Donaco International stated a first-half financial year result. COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted to full-year results.
Donaco International posted an EBITDA of A$13.8 million in the first half of the financial year, compared to A$12.9 million last year. The casinos’ closure because of a pandemic reason has had a real impact on Donaco’s operations.
For a limited basis from time-to-time, Aristo in Vietnam has opened on May 8. Because the border with China was closed and its patrons were from this country.
As well as, Star Vegas in Cambodia is still will close. Because the border with Thailand are closed and most of the casinos’ patrons originate from Thailand.
So, when borders reopen and cross border travel flows recommence, the two casinos will be ready to ramp up to higher patron capacity.
Donaco has executed cost control strategies at these two casinos, keeping a monthly cash burn of about US$800,000 to US$900,000.
The announcement said that the COVID-19 has severely impacted the company’s casino and hotel businesses, also travel restrictions. As well as, it reduced patronage at two casinos – Star Vegas and Aristo.
